If Rivals can continue this momentum, its success could extend well beyond 2025.

The next big milestone in the game is the introduction of new heroes. Rivals started with 33 heroes and villains from across the Marvel Multiverse. Bringing a new hero (or heroes) into the action can be the perfect way to shake up the action early in the game.

Several heroes have been leaked for this game (read more about leaked Marvel Rivals characters here). So there's no doubt that more heroes are in development, and the question is when the first new characters will debut.

Fans should expect news of the free-to-play title's next big content endeavor to be announced in mid-to-late January. It will probably be announced in time for the first official season, which is rumored to be released around January 10th.
